The Doraville City Council met Jan. 19 to discuss a variance on property at 3606 Stewart Road. The city ordinance requires 85 feet width on the lot when the property is to be subdivided.
While three residents spoke in favor of the variance, one resident said that while he wasn’t necessarily against the variance, he wished the building being constructed had some brick around the base and a basement, like most of the buildings nearby. He said he felt this would maintain a higher value for the surrounding property.
After all public comments were heard, the council voted unanimously to allow the variance.
The council also voted unanimously to approve the masterplan for improving the Historic Downtown District, and voted 4 - 3 to approve the New Peachtree Road improvement project funded by the Georgia Department of Transportation.
