GDOT officials are ready to allow drivers to begin utilizing the displaced left turn lanes on Ga 10/ U.S. 78 to turn left onto Ga 124/Scenic Highway beginning Wednesday, July 31. Traffic will crews will work overnight Tuesday to have the intersection operational before Wednesday morning’s commute.

This is the second displaced left turn intersection built in Georgia; the first one is in Dawson County at Ga 400 and Ga 53.

The project includes improvements to Henry Clower Boulevard, construction of displaced left turns from Ga 10/ U.S. 78 onto Ga 124, and adds southbound right turn lanes from Ga 124 on to Ga 10/U.S. 78. These improvements are designed to improve traffic flow through the area with added safety.

Northbound drivers are reminded no right or left turns will be permitted onto Ga 10/U.S. 78 from Ga 124. Northbound traffic wanting to turn right on Ga 10/U.S. 78 toward Loganville or left toward Stone Mountain will now use Henry Clower Boulevard.

Southbound traffic on Ga 124 headed toward I-20 wanting to turn right toward I-20 will enter dedicated right turn lanes. Southbound through traffic and left turns will not be significantly different.
