Plans are moving forward on the construction of four fire stations in Henry County through the latest SPLOST. The Board of Commissioners voted at its Feb. 3 meeting to approve architectural design plans for a replacement station in Locust Grove as well as three new stations in the Luella, Mt. Carmel and Kelleytown areas.
Design costs approved for all four stations total just under $400,000. The construction bid process on the Locust Grove station will begin immediately after the design phase is completed, with the next likely station to be in Luella, according to county officials.
