Road paving will cause some delays in downtown Clarkston for at least a week, officials said.

Crews started Monday shaving off a top layer of the pavement and replacing it, the city's police said on Facebook.

According to the police, the closures will include the following stretches:

• Church Street from North Decatur Road to East Ponce de Leon Ave

• Mell Avenue from East Ponce de Leon to Casa Drive

They added that Brockett Road will have several areas patched with asphalt.

The work will run between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., the cops said.

There will be no detours, but traffic will be reduced to one lane as paving occurs. Flaggers will move traffic through the construction zones.
