The DeKalb County Board of Education approved a land deal with the City of Chamblee at its regular meeting Monday night. The deal, which is largely a trade of two parcels between the city and the school district for the cost of $10. It also includes the clean-up of the adjacent Highland Gardens Apartment complex. The district will spend about $370,000 for the safe removal and disposal of asbestos laden dry wall, doors and other materials from the old apartment complex to make way for the ongoing Chamblee Charter High School project.
