The DeKalb County Commission recently agreed to assign a county police officer to the Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force.

The program is designed to identify and dismantle the most serious drug trafficking and money laundering organizations across the nation.

As part of the approval, the county also will receive up to $12,000 for overtime pay incurred as part of task force investigations.
