DeKalb Counry recently the accepted a donation of five acres of land from the county Housing Authority, next to the Delano Line Park.

The housing authority acquired the property on Delano Drive earlier this year and demolished the derelict buildings there. Giving the land to the county allows it to expand the park, which was created last year with federal Neighborhood Stabilization Program money.

Although the county is not paying for the land, it will spend up to $60,000 performing due diligence and paperwork to transfer the property. That money will come from the county’s 2001 park bond fund.
