Dacula soon to be hotbed of transportation improvements

There are several transportation related projects coming to the Dacula area. Many of these are joint projects among the city, county and/or state.

Gwinnett transportation officials have given the city some rough estimates on the start dates for county projects. Rights of way are currently being acquired for the Winder Highway bridge replacement project to begin late 2017 or early 2018.

Rights of way and permitting are being acquired to tie slopes to a cemetery property for several joint county/city sidewalk projects coming in summer. Funding arrangements are being worked out for a GA 316/Harbins Road grade separation project slated for 2019.

And looking ahead to 2022, the city anticipates a Sugarloaf Extension project in the Dacula area.

Currently, final repairs have been completed to the Colonial Pipeline replacement. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas the city will proceed with a reclamation/paving project along Harbin Oaks Street.
