The Dacula City Council voted to approve the 2016 millage rate at the roll back level of 4.957 at a recent special called council meeting. This is the third cut of the millage rate in the last three years. The 2014 millage rate was 5.440 and the 2015 millage rate was 5.228.
Despite these millage rate reductions, the city anticipates a net increase to revenue from property tax reassessments and new construction of $39,482, representing a 5.16 percent increase.
Residential sanitation fees will remain $192 per year, and commercial sanitation fees for businesses which do not require a dumpster will remain at $240 per year. Both city taxes and sanitation charges are billed with Gwinnett County property tax notices.
