A suspect was in custody Friday morning after he allegedly shot up a Cobb County Waffle House, police said.
The incident happened about 2 a.m. Friday at the 24-hour diner in the 2100 block of Cobb Parkway near Kennesaw, Cobb police Sgt. Dana Pierce said.
Pierce said a restaurant customer “got into a verbal argument with other patrons in the Waffle House when he got up and fired two shots into the air, and then before leaving in a car fired one more shot in the direction of others inside.”
No one was injured, but the final shot shattered one of the restaurant’s plate glass windows.
The suspect, whose name has not been released, was arrested by officers as he was fleeing, Pierce said.
Rachel Troiano made her normal Friday breakfast stop at the restaurant several hours after the incident.
“I think it’s terrible, but unfortunately, it can happen anywhere, and I think it’s more likely to happen at a place that’s open 24 hours,” Troiano said.
