Grayson officials have selected Bayne Development Group to construct the city’s “ampavilion,” a structure formed by a center stage with open pavilions on each side. Plans for the building at 475 Grayson Parkway include restrooms, ramps, and storage area.

Grayson leaders hope the side pavilion design will be useful when hosting performing arts events. The pavilion areas will be curtained and will function as “stage left” and “stage right.”

The project is funded by the Special Local Option Sale Tax.

Construction will begin in mid-June, soon after the Gimme Shelter benefit concert on June 9. The ampavilion should be completed and ready for use in time for the Grayson Blues and Brews festival Oct. 20.
