Cobb's school board agreed in a 6 to 1 vote to change its core values, belief statements, mission, vision and goals as part of creating the district strategic plan.

The plan was created by an advisory group comprised of community members, parents, administrators and board members and will guide the district for the next five years.

Among the changes, the new vision is "Empowering Dreams for the Future," and the mission statement is "Creating and supporting pathways for success."
