Each night, millions of Americans spend at least part of their hungry without access to healthy foods.

What needs to be done to eliminate food insecurity?

CNN Dialogues will present “Hungry for Change: America’s Struggle to Eliminate Food Deserts,” which will focus on the issues of food security and food deserts.

The forum will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday in Spelman College’s Cosby Auditorium, 440 Westview Dr. S.W.

CNN chief medical correspondent and Emory University neurosurgeon Sanjay Gupta will moderate the panel that includes Panelists include award-winning chef and author Hugh Acheson, Feeding America executive Maura Daly, K. Rashid Nuri, founder of Atlanta’s Truly Living Well Center for Natural Urban Agriculture, and Monica White, assistant professor of environmental justice at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Nearly one in six people in the U.S. are food insecure, meaning they don’t have access to they enough food to live healthy lives.

The event is co-sponsored by CNN, Emory University’s James Weldon Johnson Institute for the Study of Race and Difference and the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. Spelman College is also co-hosting the event.
