Sandy Springs will test its new tornado sirens between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Thursday. Sirens will be activated for about one minute if weather conditions are clear. If there are indications of severe storms, testing will be postponed.

The eight new warning sirens, installed in early February, have the capacity to broadcast voice alerts. They can be controlled remotely via radio.
