City of South Fulton Mayor William “Bill” Edwards will host a Town Hall Public Safety Meeting 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15 at Friendship Community Church, 4141 Old Fairburn Road, College Park, according to a press release.
The meeting will serve as the first in a series of town halls focused on public safety and community engagement.
“It is my mission as mayor of the city of South Fulton to ensure that residents have all of the tools they need to protect themselves and their loved ones,” said Edwards in a statement. “With the holidays fast approaching, I am excited to roll out the ‘Don’t Be A Target Campaign.’ This campaign promotes awareness and provides safety measures to help prevent theft from motor vehicles.”
During the Town Hall, Councilwoman Helen Willis will introduce the City’s Human Trafficking initiative.
At the City Council meeting on Sept. 11, the city of South Fulton adopted an ordinance, sponsored by Willis, that requires businesses to “Hang the Sign,” which includes information about Human Trafficking.
“With the city of South Fulton being the largest of the eight cities in the South Fulton region and having all major interstates in its proximity, it is important to be in the forefront of this significant issue that is plaguing metro Atlanta,” said Willis. “We are asking the community and businesses to work together with our police department to combat this issue and assist anyone they suspect of being a victim of human trafficking by encouraging them to seek help via the Georgia Hotline for Domestic Minor Trafficking (844-842-3678).”
The meeting will also feature City of South Fulton Police Chief Keith Meadows, who will introduce the city’s vision and plan to fight crime. In addition, the Drug Enforcement Administration will provide drug disposal bins on site to collect any unused or expired prescription medicines.

6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3 at Elizabeth Baptist Church, 4245 Cascade Road, SW, Atlanta
