A man was shot late Monday night while delivering Chinese food in southwest Atlanta, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Allen Crockett, 58, was hit in the arm and leg by a gunman who fired five times, the report said.

Crockett, a Lucky 101 employee, went up to a home on Lynford Drive to deliver food, and a masked man with a gun opened the door, police said.

"I knew I was hit. I kept running," Crockett told Channel 2.

After the gunshots, co-worker Kris Pather, who was in the truck waiting, ran to help his friend and rushed him to a nearby fire station, where medics transported him to the hospital.

"The good Lord was watching out for me," Crockett said. His doctors said that he should make a full recovery.

The investigation is continuing.
