Two children riding a bicycle were hit by a vehicle in southwest Atlanta on Monday afternoon, police said.

The 9-year-old boy and 13-year-old girl were struck by a 2007 Lexus ES350 after they came down a hill and failed to stop at the intersection of Roy and McDaniel streets, Atlanta police spokesman Sgt. Greg Lyon said

Both were transported to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. The girl was in critical condition, Lyon said, while the boy had only minor injuries.

The driver remained at the scene of the incident, and authorities do not anticipate that charges will be filed against him, Lyon said.
