The Cherokee County Schools have scheduled two open houses in the coming days to review possible, new, English Language Arts instructional resources for kindergarten through fifth grade.
The events, open to teachers, parents and other stakeholders, are scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday and Thursday in Room H21 of the Cherokee County School District Educational Services Annex, 1020 Keeter Road, Canton. Resources on display will cover Reading, Writing and Phonics.
Educational Programs staff will be available to answer questions, and there will be opportunities to evaluate and comment on the possible resources.
The open houses are being held as the district considers replacing current resources, a district spokeswoman said. The next step would be a recommendation to the superintendent's committee for the 2017-18 school year budget, which the School Board will consider in June. Information: http://bit.ly/2hkVRb9
