Northside Hospital’s Cherokee County campus will sponsor such school district events as Teachers of the Year, participate in middle and high school career days, and provide release time with pay to staff to tutor and mentor at-risk students under a recently renewed partnership agreement with the schools.

The agreement, approved by the Cherokee County School Board, also has Northside providing internship opportunities to students, and speakers, mentors, in-kind donations and other support, as requested, based on Partners in Education agreements between local schools and the hospital.

The School Board, in turn, will let the hospital post community activities and screenings on the district’s website; and recognize Northside as the exclusive health care provider of district activities and programs, and as primary provider of third-party health education to the schools through its Junior Health Advocate Program.

The agreement runs through Nov. 21, 2020, and automatically renews for additional terms of one year, up to five renewal terms.
