The Chamblee MARTA station was closed several hours Monday afternoon while firefighters battled a blaze in the area. But the station re-opened in time for the afternoon rush hour.

Shortly after noon, buses were transporting passengers between the Chamblee, Doraville and Brookhaven stations, according to Cara Hodgson, MARTA spokeswoman. The station was open just before 4 pl.m.

DeKalb County crews battled a brush fire near the station, forcing it to be closed.
