Canton city officials are looking for five qualified candidates to staff the city’s recently created Historic Preservation Commission.
Those seeking consideration must be Canton residents having a special interest, experience or education in history, architecture or the preservation of historic resources. Successful candidates will undergo required training and will be tasked with creating an historic district, said City Clerk Susan Stanton. They’ll serve three-year terms.
The Canton City Council is scheduled to consider appointment of commission members at its April 16 meeting. Four Canton residents have already applied.
