The Canton City Council has approved a $542,143 contract with Bartow Paving Co. to undertake 3.11 miles of repairs to 13 city streets.
Bartow Paving of Cartersville submitted the lowest bid of three for the 2017 Local Maintenance & Improvement Grant program of the Georgia Department of Transportation. The program has designated $248,858 for Canton.
Alexander, Broad, Coker, East Killian, Edwards, Jeanette, Killian, Muriel, Short and West South streets and Village Court, South McCollum Drive and Scott Mill Road will be repaired. The work includes the milling of the existing asphalt surface, applying an asphalt overlay, manhole and catch basin repairs, striping and traffic control.
