When a popular downtown restaurant failed a health inspection earlier this month, officials said it did not post its failing score for diners to see, as required.

Instead, Busy Bee Cafe had a passing score from October displayed on the wall, according to notes in a Friday re-inspection — which the restaurant also failed.

The restaurant passed another inspection with a 92/A Monday.

The eatery scored a 68 on Friday; it scored a 62 on Feb. 14. A mark of 69 and below is considered failing.

According to the Friday report, an employee was observed "improperly washing hands in the main kitchen."

Officials also reported collard greens stored on the ground and a fryer near a back door “with exposed outer boundaries.”

Manger Jennifer Smash said the situation was rectified, and “everything they wanted to get fixed was fixed.”
