The Buckhead Coalition is offering a $10,000 incentive grant to the first company to develop a compressed natural gas station in Buckhead, a 28-square mile area with an overnight population of 78,000 that roughly doubles during the day. Coalition president and former Atlanta Mayor Sam Massell said the grant is "consistent with the environmental consciousness of this community."
Meanwhile, Atlanta Gas Light has initiated a statewide compressed natural gas infrastructure program which will provide $11.57 million to assist in the development of CNG stations.
