Brookhaven voters rejected a referendum to create tax allocation districts in blighted areas of the city. City officials believed the TADs would promote economic development, however 60 percent of the ballots cast were against the idea.

Separately, John Park won the Brookhaven City Council District 2 race, defeating challenger Tim Nana. Park received nearly 59 percent of the vote to Nana’s 33 percent.

The seat was vacated by Jim Eyre in April.
