Marietta High School Principal Leigh Colburn, who was recently honored with a special resolution by the Georgia House of Representatives, has received the 2015 Creating Community Award, a distinction presented by the Cobb County Commission and Cobb Community Relations Council.

Flat Rock Middle student William Browning took fifth place out of 100 students statewide participating in the Georgia National Geographic Bee.

Three Paideia athletes have recently signed to play sports at top colleges. John Michael Boswell signed with Furman University to play baseball; Dylan Goodwin signed with Kenyon College to play baseball and Ellery Koelker-Wolfe will play basketball at Claremont McKenna College.

The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation has named Carlton Curtis, vice president of industry relations for The Coca-Cola Co., the 2015 Thad and Alice Eure Ambassador of Hospitality Award.

Khylil Chestnut of Douglasville has been selected as a Newman Civic Fellow for 2015. Khy, a senior, is a political science major at Kennesaw State University, where he has served as vice president of the Student Government Association.
