The boil water advisory issued for parts of southeast Atlanta on Thursday was lifted Friday night.

Water samples taken in the affected areas showed no contaminants, the Department of Watershed Management said.

A power outage Thursday led to a loss of pressure in the drinking water system, which was back in normal working condition within about 30 minutes, the department said.

As a precautionary measure, authorities flushed the system and sampled the water to make sure there was no contamination.

The advisory was in effect for:

  • Streets between I-20 to the north, Glenwood Avenue to the south, Haas Avenue to the east and Moreland Avenue to the west.
  • Streets between Mauldin Street to the north, Memorial Drive to the south, Stovall Street to the east and Holtzclaw Street to the west.
  • Streets between Gordon Street to the north, Cottage Grove Avenue to the south, Carter Avenue/5th Avenue to the east and Oakview Road to the west.
