The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously on Jan. 3 to approve a low bid of $2,847,199.50 from Ohmshiv Construction for grading, widening and paving on Elliott Road.

The project is being funded by the county’s current SPLOST. The move required a budget amendment of $1,508,695 that took money from three other project accounts: Kelleytown Park (already completed), Hemphill Road at Hwy. 138 (under construction), and Selfridge over Little Cotton Indian Creek (on hold pending further funding).
