Berkeley Lake is seeking city residents to serve on the city’s Financial Affairs Committee, Berkeley Lake Conservancy and Planning and Zoning Commission.

The Financial Affairs Committee makes recommendations regarding the management of Berkeley Lake’s financial resources. They participate in preparation and amendment of the budget, long-term financial planning and reporting and help recommend the millage rate to the city council.

The Berkeley Lake Conservancy is tasked with supervision of the city’s buffer areas, greenspaces and park. They coordinate the annual monitoring visit with the Georgia Piedmont Land Trust as well as conduct and coordinate activities that maintain the city’s status as a Tree City. The group also explores and pursues possible additional greenspace areas in the city that could be permanently protected.

The five-member Planning and Zoning Commission functions as both a planning commission and a board of zoning appeals. Two of the five current members have terms that expire at the end of this year.
