The Austell City Council approved expenditures 6-0 June 4 for pipelines, sidewalks and a shop roof.

Five failing pipelines will be replaced on Hotel Street, Deerfield Creek/Water Oaks, Rolly Street, Center Street and Cemetery Street.

The cost of $78,122 will come from the city’s stormwater fund, said the city’s Public Works Director Bo Garrison.

Stone Enterprise and the Corbett Group are expected to complete the projects in “about two to three months,” Garrison added.

The sidewalk projects will be installed by Cobb County on Austell Road from Veterans Memorial Highway to Clay Road and on the east side of Meadows Road from Hendricks Elementary School to Windbrooke Drive.

Also, repairs to the city’s shop roof will be made by Worsham Contracting for almost $34,420.
