The Austell Planning and Zoning Commission voted Tuesday to recommend approval of an annexation request, proposed amendments to the city’s Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance and development regulations.
City council members will be reviewing these matters during their pre-agenda meeting at 6 p.m. Monday in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 2716 Broad St.
Final public hearings and decisions are expected by the city council at 7 p.m. March 2, also at City Hall.
Jimmie D. Rogers is requesting the annexation of 3885 Humphries Hill Road, but the property will retain its Cobb County zoning of R-20 (Single Family Residential).
From 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, the proposed amendments may be viewed at Suite 101, Austell Threadmill Complex, 5000 Austell Powder Springs Road, Austell, while the proposed development regulations may be viewed in Suite 105.
Anyone wishing to speak in opposition at the hearings must sign up by at least March 1, also in Suite 101, or call 770-944-4309.
