The Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs seeks exceptional visual artists and graphic designers to create a limited-edition t-shirt design for the 43rd annual Atlanta Jazz Festival, according to a news release.

The design must integrate the Atlanta Jazz Festival’s A-Horn Logo in an exciting and interesting way while expressing the vibrant legacy of jazz.

Artists interested in this opportunity have until 5 p.m. Friday, May 1 to submit their work.

Visual artists and graphic designers can submit two t-shirt design concepts (do not submit more than two designs for consideration; additional designs will not be considered) using the Atlanta Jazz Festival’s A-Horn logo. The submitted designs should be innovative and visually expressive of jazz music, and its history.

Of all the submissions, three artists will be chosen and their selected concept turned into t-shirts for the festival. The Atlanta Jazz Festival will retain exclusive t-shirt reproduction rights; however, each selected artist will receive a limited number of t-shirts to sell.

In addition, the OCA will also provide the selected artists with a $500 honorarium for their work and an artist booth to use during the 2020 Atlanta Jazz Festival at no cost.

This booth space will include on-site power, a 10 feet by 10 feet tent, an 8 feet long table, and two folding chairs. Selected artists are responsible for providing additional furnishings or display materials for the space. Each booth will be placed in a location determined by the city.
