The Alpharetta City Council has approved a $289,401 contract with Vertical Earth Inc. for new sidewalks along Old Roswell Road, Warsaw Road and Mansell Court; and $20,000 for utility relocations by AT&T, Comcast and Georgia Power.

Vertical Earth submitted the lowest of seven bids for the job, which also involves cooperating with Roswell on the construction of the Warsaw sidewalk to an eight-foot width, rather than six feet. That walk will be part of the Roswell Loop connecting parks and schools.

Alpharetta will manage the design, easement acquisition and construction of the Warsaw walk under an intergovernmental agreement with Roswell approved by the mayor and council in December.

Plans call for about 1,120 linear feet of sidewalk along the east side of Warsaw, south of Mansell; 1,075 linear feet of sidewalk on the north side of Old Roswell from Mansell east to Warsaw; and 250 linear feet of sidewalk on the south side of Mansell. The work is to be completed within 60 days of the notice to proceed.
