The Alpharetta City Council has approved a conditional use recognizing a church worshipping in an office/industrial center.

Since 2015, Parish Anglican Church has occupied 5,000 square feet at 11940 Alpharetta Highway, sublet from Legacy Community Academy, staff said in a report to the council. “The applicant recently became aware that a conditional use permit was necessary for the church to operate at the current location,” staff said.

Parish Anglican holds Sunday services at 9 and 10:30 a.m. with about 150 adults and children; and a service, community class and/or pastoral counseling one night a week, which can vary, staff said.

Among the conditions of the conditional use: a business license to be obtained from the city; no outside speakers or broadcasts; no outdoor displays visible from Alpharetta Highway; operations limited to 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday and 5 to 10 p.m. one additional day per week; and use limited to worship, counseling, classes “and other activities associated with a religious facility,” but not an academic school.
