New furniture approved for media centers

The Fayette County Board of Education has approved the allocation of $507,000 in SPLOST funds to equip school media centers with new furniture.

The 5-0 vote on Aug. 17 awards a contract to DeKalb Office to furnish five elementary schools and two high schools with multipurpose technology tables, modular sofas, marker boards and other pieces that improve instructional space, based on feedback from teachers and principals.

Sara Harp Minter and Spring Hill elementary schools will be the first to get the new furniture.
