Sandy Springs will host a memorial service for Eva Galambos at 2 p.m. Friday at Sandy Springs United Methodist Church, 85 Mt Vernon Highway.

Galambos, 87, died Sunday of cancer. She led the fight to incorporate the city. In 2005, voters approved the city and elected Galambos the first mayor of Sandy Springs. She retired in 2013.
