Despite opposition from neighboring subdivisions, Gwinnett commissioners approved a new 56-unit neighborhood on 21.3 acres next to Brookwood Presbyterian Church on Oak Road in Snellville.
The county’s Planning Department recommended denial of the original request for 68 homes with zoning that would allow up to five homes per acre. The neighboring areas are zoned R-100, which require 15,000 to 25,000 square-foot lot sizes which works out to about 2.8 homes per acre.
The developer, CCK LLC revised the request and has agreed to build 2,200 square-foot one-story or 2,400 square-foot two-story homes on the lots. The approved plan will result in about 2.5 homes per acre.
