Forsyth County Schools has announced a timeline for redistricting attendance lines for the 2016-2017 school year.

School officials said changing attendance boundaries is designed to relieve overcrowding and to provide students for Brandywine Elementary and DeSana Middle schools, both opening in August, 2016.

Impacted schools include Big Creek, Daves Creek, Haw Creek, Mashburn, Midway, Shiloh Point and Vickery Creek elementary schools, as well as Piney Grove, South Forsyth and Vickery Creek middle schools.

Under the timeline, staff will present a first draft of revised lines to the school board Sept. 10, followed by an online survey. A second draft will follow Oct. 8, with board approval set for Oct. 15 and another online comment period. Following two public forums and a final draft presentation, the board will adopt the final boundaries Nov. 19.
