Clayton government and emergency services officials spent Thursday monitoring weather reports in preparation for the impending snowstorm this weekend.

“We plan to be prepared for any amount of snow,” Chairman Jeff Turner said Thursday. The county has not set up its Emergency Operations Center yet, Turner said.

“We’ll gauge whether that needs to be set up tomorrow after we get our last update from the National Weather Center,” Turner said.

In the meantime, county government workers should report to work Friday, Turner said. “We’ll gauge what operations open on Monday. We’ll determine on what government facility will be opened Monday if the weather is still in bad condition.”
