A Woodstock dentist turned himself in Monday after appearing to threaten an Uber driver, who recorded the confrontation on video early Saturday morning.

Damon Bond, 43, of Woodstock, was charged with simple assault and bonded out for $1,000 the same day, Cherokee County sheriff’s spokesman Jay Baker said. Bond works at Woodstock Dental Care off Main Street.

The driver, Nathan Harrison, posted his dashcam video to Facebook after the incident, and it has since amassed more than 1,200 shares and 1,400 comments.

Harrison is heard saying, “You’re home. Have a nice night,” when dropping Bond off at his home in the 100 block of Three Branches Drive. But Bond then appears to threaten Harrison by saying, “So all you gotta do is turn over your video footage.”

It’s unknown why Bond wanted the video, but he wouldn’t allow Harrison to delete it, requesting the entire camera, according to the video.

“I’m gonna rip (the camera) off your (expletive) car,” Bond said. “You’re in my home right now, and all of a sudden, you’re on my private property, and I have the right to (expletive) kick your ass and get that video footage.”

According to a sheriff’s office incident report, Bond also threatened to have a Glock handgun in his possession. He also offered to pay $50 for the camera before going into his home.

After Bond was out of sight, Harrison drove to the 300 block of Chambers Street to call police, and a Woodstock police officer responded, the report said. Harrison told the officer that Bond was “highly intoxicated.”

During the ride, Bond also allegedly made political and violent statements, including saying “whoever wields the weapon wields the power,” the report said.

The report said Bond was involved in a previous case where he allegedly threatened to use a firearm against a taxi driver.

Woodstock Dental Care could not immediately be reached for comment. AJC.com also reached out to Harrison to get more information about the incident.
