Police: DeKalb woman accused of shooting, killing husband was ‘primary aggressor’

A domestic incident at a home near Lithonia left a man dead and his wife in jail on a murder charge, authorities said.

Aimee Glover Heyward, 45, is accused of shooting and killing her husband, 49-year-old Bruce Heyward, on Feb. 25, DeKalb County police spokesman J.D. Spencer told AJC.com. Spencer described her as the “primary aggressor.”

The incident happened at their home in the 7500 block of Edenberry Way. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital later that day, and she was charged in connection with his death the next day, Spencer said.

She faces charges of murder and probation violation, according to DeKalb jail records. She was sentenced to a year of probation in May 2018 for a disorderly conduct conviction, according to court records.

As of Tuesday afternoon, she remained in jail without bond, jail records show.
