Rockdale County investigator Michael Meyers told the news station they are taking the neighbors’ concerns about dogfighting seriously.

“Right now we're still looking into that to find out exactly what's going on,” Meyers said.

Two of the dogs taken from the home were immediately euthanized.

The other 18 dogs are being cared for at an animal shelter, where officials hope to put the pups up for adoption when they are well.

Anyone interested in adopting a dog or cat from the now overcrowded Rockdale County Animal Shelter should visit the shelter in person.
