Four juveniles were arrested in southern Cobb County after stealing a car and nearly hitting the car’s owner Friday afternoon, authorities said.
The incident happened at a RaceTrac gas station at the intersection of Veterans Memorial Highway and Oakdale Road, and Smyrna police are investigating the incident, Channel 2 Action News reported.
Police told Channel 2 that the woman’s green Hyundai Sante Fe was stolen during a “slider” crime, and she tripped, fell and was nearly run over while trying to get back into her car.
Later Friday night, four minors were taken into custody, and the car was found totaled in Atlanta, police told the news station. Charges are pending.
AJC.com does not publish the names of minors being charged as juveniles. The charges they will face have not been released.
