The City of Morrow police chief has been fired after five months on the job.

Melvin Douglas Jr. was fired Thursday morning, according to city of Morrow's Interim City Manager Sylvia Redic. Redic told Channel 2 Action News she could not disclose why Douglas was terminated from his position.

Douglas was appointed as Morrow police chief in late August 2014.

Capt. Greg Tatroe will serve as Morrow’s interim police chief, Redic said.
