The Cottage School at 700 Grimes Bridge Road in Roswell recently closed on the purchase of additional acreage at 710 Grimes Bridge Road The school, which serves students with learning differences, was requesting a change in conditions to address the boundary fencing, landscaping, playground and golf cart path along the 710 Grimes Bridge Road property lines.
A fence which was a requirement has been installed along the neighboring property lines to the west.
The Roswell City Council approved the school’s requests with a few conditions. The landscape plan, submitted by the school, must be approved by the Design Review Board. The Board will focus on the location of evergreen screening on the property to reduce noise and sound onto the adjacent property.
Conditions that remain unchanged since an October 13, 2020 approval include a 6-foot tall fence to be constructed along the Cottage School property line that has a driveway bordering 730 Grimes Bridge Road and along the rear of the property. This fence will be reviewed and approved by the Design Review Board. All required fencing must be completed within six months.
The play area to be used by the students is restricted to the backyard of the property. The school is restricted to a maximum of 30 students at any one time.
