A stop-work order was issued recently for a new subdivision due to planning and zoning conditions which county officials said were not being met. A statement issued Sept. 2 indicated that Bruce Holmes, the county commissioner in whose district the Broder Farms building site on Flippen Road is located, noticed during a recent drive through the area that some finished homes were not in compliance with a requirement that they consist of brick on all sides.

Holmes said that in his 11 years on the Henry County Board of Commissioners he has never approved a residential or commercial development in his district without that requirement. The issue was brought to the county’s building department, who issued the stop-work order. Information: henrycounty-ga.com.
