Following a recent public hearing, the Sugar Hill City Council approved an application from Anamaria Hazard representing Northside Hospital, for construction of a medical facility at the corner of Sycamore Road and Ga. 20/Nelson Brogdon Boulevard.

The property is currently vacant and falls within the Town Center Overlay. The 35,000-square-foot medical office building on a little over four and a half acres is not expected to replace the nearby imaging center.

Approval came with six conditions including the site development will closely resemble plans already submitted to the city, and the sidewalk along Ga. 20 will include brick edging and connect to one being constructed by the Cadence mixed-use project. The developers will also provide up to $25,000 toward enhanced access improvements along Sycamore Road, ornamental streetlights along both roadways, and make a $20,000 contribution toward future art initiatives in the city. Any dumpster enclosures will be constructed of the same materials as the principal building.
