New gun owners can learn the basics of firearms safety at the Lawrenceville Police Department’s last firearms safety class this year 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20 at the police station, 300 Jackson St.

The class focuses on new gun owners or persons who are considering owning a gun. Students will learn about loading and unloading revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students will handle various types of firearms and will fire weapons with an instructor. Students will receive eye and ear protection when they complete the class.

The class is sponsored by the Lawrenceville Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association.
