Fayette County parents have until March 22 to apply for their children to attend high school virtually next school year. The county is extending its option for online courses because of the coronavirus. Eligible students must be full-time Fayette residents enrolled in county schools; their parents must have accounts in both Infinite Campus and Schoology. Students will still be provided with Chromebooks, although their teachers may not be from the same school they usually attend.

Instruction will be held in two or three synchronous sessions per week, and attendance will be taken. Any students who are failing virtual courses during the first semester will be put on probation, and those who are still failing at the end of the semester must return to in-person school. All virtual students can request to return to in-person school midyear and can participate in extracurricular activities.

A link to course offerings and the application is in an email sent to parents March 12; information is also available from the high schools.
