In two personnel-related actions, the Cherokee County School District has posted a job opening for its first cyber security teacher, and announced that its annual job fair will be a virtual event in March.

A new, cyber security high school career program will debut in the 2021-22 school year, the district said. Requirements for the teaching position include “broad knowledge of computing systems and software and latest trends in cyber security (and) ability to build and maintain relationships with industry professionals.”

The job fair is set for 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 6. The district said it will focus on hiring teachers, bus drivers, school nurses and school nutrition workers for the 2021-22 school year. Instructions for participation will be posted to the district website and social media the first week in February.
